Surrey-based bakery Jens Cupcakery has achieved a 1-star Great Taste award for its carrot mini loaf cake.
The entries were judged by over 500 of the most demanding palates, including food critics, chefs as well as a whole host of food writers.
Some of the judges commented on her carrot cake stating: “It is a delicious moist cake with a generous filling of raisins and grated carrot. Good balance of flavours harmonising with the indulgent icing. A delicious little cake with moist fruit and a good balance of spicing.”
Jennifer Sutton, who owns the bakery, commented: “I am absolutely thrilled for one of my products to be recognised in this way especially as my customers have been telling me for a long time now.
“The carrot cake has long been my best-seller, but it’s great to have the recognition of such a prestigious food accreditation scheme.”
This is not the first time that Jens Cupcakery has been recognised for its products after becoming a Cupcake Championship finalist in 2014-2015.
The Great Taste Awards 2016 will be reaching its conclusion on Monday 5 September at the Royal Garden Hotel in London to find out the Golden Fork winners for each region at an awards dinner, with the final applause reserved for the Great Taste Supreme Champion 2016.
Earlier this month, Burtree Puddings picked up 2016 Great Taste Awards for several of its products.
