Full list of Britain’s Best Cake 2025 medal winners revealed

A sticky toffee blondie, vegan caramel fudge cake, and traditional Christmas cake are among the medallists at Britain’s Best Cake 2025.

The competition, sponsored by Dawn Foods, Kluman & Balter, Rainbow Dust, Sonneveld Group, and St. Ewe Free Range Eggs, took place at the NEC Birmingham on Monday 7 April. Here a panel of esteemed judges analysed, sniffed, and tasted more than 100 cakes to find the best in the nation.

The Chocolate Cake from Abba Cakes in the Wirral was crowned as the ultimate champion while a Westmorland Pepper Cake, Chocolate Cake with Pistachio & Berries, and Fig, Ginger & Blackberry Traybake were among the category winners.

Now in its second year, Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals were also introduced to the competition for 2025.

“It is such a joy to have crowned Britain’s Best Cake for the second year and see our champion, a delectable chocolate cake from Abba Cakes, receive such recognition in the industry, from customers, and also gain well-deserved coverage on the BBC,” said British Baker editor Amy North.

“The quality and quantity of entries mean our judges always have such difficult decisions to make, particularly as this year so many of the cakes were incredible. Introducing Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals allows us to recognise and rewards the efforts of the fantastic cake-makers who deserve it.”
