Artisan bakeries continue to inspire and engage consumers across the country with their handcrafted ranges, so British Baker is once again launching a search to find the very best!

For the fifth year in a row, British Baker is looking to champion the UK’s top 13 artisan bakeries as voted for by industry peers.

Dubbed the Bakers’ Dozen, it forms part of The Artisan Collective – an initiative that showcases the quality and achievements of these businesses and the passionate people behind them.

As with last year, we are opening up online voting to our entire industry readership.

The Artisan Collective 2027: cast your votes now

Artisan bakeries are defined as businesses where baked goods – including sourdough, bread, buns, pastries, cakes, and more – are made by skilled bakers by hand, often utilising processes that are both time-treasured and time-consuming. Quality of ingredients and end products are high on the agenda, with artisan bakeries typically only operating a handful of sites at most.

“We know there’s some supremely talented bakers across the nation that are worthy of recognition,” said British Baker editor Amy North. “They could be located within a short walk or drive from your house, or ones that have impressed you during a trip in the past year. Perhaps you’ve even sought them out based on their social media output or been recommended by a friend.

“No matter how you’ve discovered them, make sure to cast your vote to give them a chance for their moment in the spotlight,” North added.

Voting is simple and quick. Once you’ve inputted your contact details, click through to name your top four bakeries, their locations, and a short reason why you think they are special. Please ensure to list them in order of preference, as the ranking plays a key role in the final results.

Help us herald the very best artisan bakeries this country has to offer by casting your vote here.

Deadline for voting is 4 November, with results to be revealed in British Baker in mid-February.
