Asda has revamped its bakery range with 137 new products for summer 2023, with additions to the Extra Special line-up as well as staples.
Among the new products, which are permanent additions to the range, are breads, celebration cakes and morning goods.
The revamp follows the retailer introducing a new range of baked goods in September 2022 with a significant investment in quality and packaging. The revamp of 200-plus products saw in-store bakery lines and bought-in baked goods brought under The Bakery at Asda banner.

Here we take a closer look at some of the standout lines of the new range:
Extra Special Lotus Biscoff Croissant
The soft, flaky pastry is filled with caramelised biscuit spread and topped with caramel biscuit crumb for extra flavour. Priced at £1.70 for a pack of two, Asda said the launch is already creating a stir on its social media channels.
Barbie Celebration Cake
Exclusive to Asda for 12 weeks after the launch of the new movie on 21 July, this bright pink cake (£14) features a raspberry-filled sponge with sweet filling.
Little Mermaid Celebration Cake
Rolling out in the wake of the release of the live-action version of the Disney classic, this cake features colourful under-the-sea style decorations and an edible mermaid centre piece. It’s priced at £14.
Extra Special Olive Sourdough Bloomer
Asda said this Mediterranean-inspired loaf (£1.95) will ‘whisk bread-lovers away to the hills of Tuscany’ and that is pairs well with olive oil.
Other new products include a Create Your Own Cake (£12) that is a Madeira sponge layered with plum and raspberry jam and topped with plain white vanilla frosting. It is sold with icing pens so customers can personalise the cake.
For breads fans there are Tear and Share Breadsticks (£1.10) made with extra virgin olive oil, and Extra Special Pumpernickel Bread made with dark rye flour and hand topped with seeds.
