Craft bakery business Cooplands has partnered with TV chef Ainsley Harriott to create four new bakery items with a spicy kick for summer.

Part of its wider summer range (see below for more details) the collaboration brought together Harriott’s passion for bold, vibrant flavours and Cooplands’ ambition to evolve its offer for summer.

The four new items are:

  • Jerk Chicken Pizza – pizza topped with jerk chicken, sharp cheddar cheese, creamy mozzarella, and a fiery chilli sauce (£2.70, 542 Kcal)
  • New Yorker Sandwich – hand prepared, layered with seasoned Pastrami, and Cooplands own recipe creamy gherkin & Emmental mix, served in a soft country grain roll (£5, 525 Kcal)
  • Mexican Chilli Pasty – beef chilli con carne encased in a flaky pastry, topped with a seasoned crumble (£2.50, 369 Kcal)
  • Chilli Brownie – Cooplands’ classic brownie with an extra kick! Made with dark chocolate, infused with chilli sauce, and topped with fiery chilli & chocolate fudge (£2, 394 Kcal).

Harriott, known for hosting TV shows such as Ready Steady Cook, spent time in Cooplands’ development kitchen with new product development manager and Rising Star Award winner Emily Anderson where they explored flavour trends and created products inspired by cuisines from around the world. With the World Cup taking place across Mexico, the USA and Canada, the range takes inspiration from international flavour profiles.

“Working with Ainsley has been a fantastic opportunity to bring fresh ideas and exciting new flavours to our summer range,” said Anderson.

“We’re incredibly proud of the products we’ve created together, combining Ainsley’s expertise and passion for great-tasting food with the quality and value our customers expect from Cooplands. The new range offers something different for customers looking to enjoy delicious seasonal flavours, and we’re confident it will be a real hit this summer.”
