National Doughnut Week is set to take place on 20-28 May 2023, with charity The Children’s Trust once again benefiting from the funds raised.
Bakers, coffee shops and other organisations are encouraged to sign up for the week-long celebration of the sweet treat with all money raised donated directly to the charity.
Sponsor CSM Ingredients revealed the 2022 celebration, which took place in May, raised £36,041 for the national charity which delivers rehabilitation, education and community services through skilled teams who work with children and young people with brain injuries.
Over the years National Doughnut Week has raised £545,000 for the organisation, with more than £1m donated to charitable causes since its inception in 1992.
Bakers from across the UK joined the cause rolling out all types of doughnuts for the 2022 celebration from classic jam and salted caramel filled ones to S’mores themed doughnuts and ones topped with other treats such as Oreos, Lotus Biscoff biscuits, cookies, Percy Pig sweets and more. East Midlands chain Birds Bakery even offered customers the chance to win vouchers for its stores with a ‘golden doughnut’ promotion which saw the filling in a small number of its popular caramel doughnuts replaced with a ‘golden’ orange curd.

“We want to say a huge thank you to all the bakers, cafes and businesses that took part and made such an effort to help us to raise the grand total,” said Cristiana Ballarini, CSM Ingredients marketing director pastry mixes.
“The Children’s Trust carries out vital work across the country and every penny raised goes towards supporting children and their families that benefit from their great work.”
