There’s also a Christmas-themed Colin the Caterpillar as well as a host of indulgent sweet and savoury options for the run-up to Christmas and the big day itself.

Rodney the Reindeer Baked Alaska – £14

Cutting into the silky mallow coating reveals a chocolate sponge with Madagascan vanilla semifreddo and Belgian chocolate sauce. The baked Alaska is ready to be browned at home and includes a red chocolate nose and chocolate antlers to finish the look.

Reindeer-shaped Steamed Buns – £7

No reindeers were harmed in the making of these steamed buns. Described as soft and fluffy, the vegan-friendly bao buns are filled with wok-fried vegetables in a sticky plum and hoisin sauce.

Helter Skelter Cake – £25

M&S is encouraging cake lovers to play with their food. The Helter Skelter Cake, comprising a Madeira sponge filled with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream, is topped with a white chocolate helter skelter dome and edible snowballs which swoosh down. After that the dome can be removed to shatter and share, revealing an edible penguin and other decorations inside.

 

Spiced Caramel Panettone – £10

This light Italian bread is filled with candied peel, fudge pieces and spiced caramel sauce all coasted in dark chocolate with caramelised almonds and malt balls. It’s made by the Di Gennaro family in Fossano, Italy, and based on a traditional recipe that has been passed down the generations.

Get Your Skates on Colin the Caterpillar – £10

Hoping to win the caterpillar race, Colin has got his skates on! The festive variant features the classic chocolate sponge roll finished with chocolate buttercream and milk chocolate topped with winter decorations including a woolly hat, festive sprinkles and mini Christmas trees.

 

Plant Kitchen Roast Butternut Squash Pie – £7

M&S is serving up a vegan-friendly option in the form of a roasted butternut squash pie. The titular ingredient is featured alongside carrot and sauteed spinach, encased in shortcrust pastry and topped with filo pastry.

Garlic Butter Brioche and Camembert Wreath – £14

M&S is taking the Christmas wreath to new heights with its brioche tear ‘n’ share offering. The dough – which surrounds a whole Camembert for dunking it in – is swirled with garlic and parsley butter and topped with sundried tomatoes.

 

Santa’s Cookie Pot – £12

Described as a vegan sensation, this dessert features a dark chocolate cookie base topped with a layer of creamy cookie, coconut and vanilla flavouring and a Belgian dark chocolate ganache. It’s finished with a cocoa dusting complete with snowflake motif.

This pie promises a Christmas dinner experience wrapped in pastry. It has layers of Oakham turkey, sweet cranberry sauce, pork, leek & sage stuffing and turkey gravy encased in hot water crust pastry and finished with a buttery puff pastry.

 

Christmas Tree Yumnut – £2

Expanding on its popular in-store bakery treat, M&S has unveiled a Christmas Tree Yumnut. The yum-yum meets doughnut hybrid is shaped like a Christmas tree, filled with raspberry jam and topped with vanilla fondant.

Returning for 2022 is this brioche roll packed with turkey breast, hot cranberry sauce, spicy chorizo style pork stuffing and a creamy red cabbage slaw.

 

Cookie Cup Mince Pies – £2.50

Tapping into demand for all things cookie related, M&S has replaced the shortcrust case on its mince pies with chewy cookie dough pastry instead. They’re made with brown butter for richness, according to the retailer, and filled with a lightly spiced classic mincemeat.
