
Global snacking company McVitie’s and doughnut specialist Crosstown have ventured into the ice cream category with a raft of new products to help bakery lovers keep cool this summer.
McVitie’s has teamed up with Iceland to launch a quartet of ice cream based on its iconic products.
The range features two tubs as well as ice cream dip sticks and bars. The line-up comprises:
- McVitie’s Hobnobs Ice Cream (500ml, £4) – oat biscuit ice cream meets oaty biscuit pieces, golden syrup sauce and shortcake biscuit pieces
- McVitie’s Milk Chocolate Digestive (500ml, £4) – biscuit flavoured ice cream with chocolate sauce, milk chocolate digestive biscuit pieces and chocolate shavings
- McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Triple Dipped Sticks (three pack, £4) – a zesty, orange flavoured ice cream, coated in a rich chocolate flavour shell with a swirl of tangy orange sauce and a smooth milk chocolate flavour finish
- McVitie’s Gold Digestives Ice Cream Bar (200ml, £4) – an indulgent vanilla flavoured ice cream, layered with caramel sauce, coated in golden caramel and sprinkled with crunchy biscuit pieces.
The tubs are available in Iceland in store and online, as well as at The Food Warehouse now. The bars and sticks will be available via the same locations as of the 26 August.
McVitie’s marketing director Benazir Barlet-Batada said the range “captures the essence of McVitie’s in every bite”. “We’re bringing something genuinely fun and delicious to sunny snacking moments,” Barlet-Batada added.
Crosstown brings sourdough twist to ice cream

Sourdough meets ice cream in Crosstown’s latest creations which includes a doughnut cone and ice cream sandwiches.
The Doughnetto is the Crosstown sourdough doughnut reborn as an ice cream cone (£5.95). Another cone option comes in the form of ‘striking’ black cones filled with ice cream in a range of flavours including Chocolate, Caramel & Peanut (ve), Lavender & Peach, Mango Sorbet, Vanilla and Salted Caramel. The cones cost £3.50 for a single scoop and £4.50 for a double. Toppings, such as freeze-dried berries, raspberry compote, chocolate ganache, and biscotti, can also be added.

Elsewhere on the menu there is the Cinnamon Ring Ice Cream Sandwich which features Crosstown’s Sri Lankan cinnamon sugar ring doughnut, sliced and stuffed with vanilla ice cream, raspberry compote, and freeze-dried raspberries. It’s priced at £6.95 one scoop or with two scoops £8.95.
Doughnut fans can also select the Holey Moy – sourdough doughnut holes in a cup layered with chocolate sauce, raspberry compote, and vanilla crumble for £4.95.
Rounding off the bakery and ice cream combos is the Cookie Ice Cream Chaos which sees a giant peanut-choc chip cookie topped with two scoops of peanut chocolate ice cream, a chocolate drizzle, biscotti crunch priced at £5.95 for one scoop of ice cream or £7.95 for two.
The permanent range is being rolled out to five of the firm’s stores: Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, Greenwich, Oxford, and Cambridge.
Crosstown CEO Jo Blundell described the range as “playful, bold, and built to beat the heat”.
