EHL Ingredients is looking to expand hire new staff and expand the business, after successfully reaching its forecast £5m sales target ahead of its financial year end.
The Stockport-based firm, which produces natural herbs, seasonings and spices for breads and bakery products, has exceeded last year’s annual turnover figure of £3.8m and has increased overall sales by 20%.
Tasneem Backhouse, sales director at EHL Ingredients, said: ‘We are delighted to be ending the year on such a high. We put our success down to several key factors: a strong sales team, quality products, a reliable service and a significant boost in our profile in the food industry press.
“We are confident about our progress as a business and have consolidated our position in this highly competitive market place. We are going into 2013 on a positive note and we are aiming to increase sales this year by a further 20%.”
In response to the healthy sales figures, EHL is now looking to recruit new members of staff and invest in additional storage space and product development for the new year.
This includes additional allergen-free spices and seasonings, as well as its ranges of heat-treated lo-micro herbs and spices.
