Staff from Allied Bakeries have helped to arrange a touch rugby tournament to raise cash for Caravan, the National Grocers’ Benevolent Fund.
The event takes place at GlaxoSmithKline’s sports fields, which are located off Swyncombe Avenue, Ealing, W5 4DS, from 13.00–18.00 on Thursday 17 May.
Other companies taking part include Procter & Gamble, Marks & Spencer, Pepsico, GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever, Kimberley-Clark, Pernod Ricard, Heinz, Jordans-Ryvita, Silverspoon, and Dunnhumby.
Chris Sciandro, a commercial insight manager for Allied Bakeries, one of two primary organisers of the event, said: “Caravan is an incredible charity that seeks to help people all over the UK who have worked, or are working, in the grocery industry, and have found that they need some extra support to get by.
“Our main aim is to raise awareness of the charity across the industry, as well as raising money through a variety of fundraising events and, with an event like a Touch Rugby tournament, we hope that everyone has fun in the process.”
