Burton’s Biscuit Co is increasing its workforce after acquiring two businesses last year.
The manufacturer is creating around 30 new jobs at its bakery in Llantarnam, Wales, which employs 650 staff. The site produces more than 40,000 tonnes of biscuits a year for brands including Maryland Cookies, Jammie Dodgers and Wagon Wheels.
The new roles will include supervisor and support positions, such as technicians and production operatives.
Burton’s said the recruitment drive followed its acquisitions of Paterson Arran last September and Thomas Fudge’s in February.
“Recent acquisitions and increased business with some of the UK’s leading supermarket groups have contributed to substantial business growth and enhanced output at the Llantarnam manufacturing site,” explained Burton’s managing director Simon Browne.
“We’re committed to maintaining our current growth and are delighted to be giving dozens of people the opportunity to join our successful, award-winning team at Llantarnam.”
