Northern Irish millers Andrews Flour has invested around £500,000 in new vehicles to enhance its delivery fleet.

It follows additions to its bulk delivery fleet last year, and includes the purchase of two Volvo tractor units and two Felbinder tankers, which the firm said will help grow the company’s business and increase the efficiency of its bulk flour deliveries.

Michael Taylor, sales manager, said: “This investment reflects our commitment to innovation and the growth of the Andrews Flour brands, namely Mortons, Andrews and Ormo Flours.”

“We understand the demands of working in an increasingly price sensitive market where the temptation to cut costs can affect the quality of product. The introduction of our new fleet demonstrates that we are continually striving to increase our capabilities, identify new opportunities and guarantees the commitment we have to supplying premium quality flours to our customers throughout Ireland.”

Andrews Flour supplies commercial bakeries throughout Ireland and to supermarkets under its three brands: Mortons, Andrews and Ormo Flours.
