Cake-maker Peck & Strong has just completed the installation of solar panels to the south elevation of its bakery’s roof.

The 50kw Photo Voltaic system, which converts sunlight into electricity, covers a 350sq ft area at its bakery in Crediton, Devon.

The company said it sees it as a “great and opportune investment for the future”, and falls in line with its existing environmental principles.

Peck & Strong already tries to minimise its carbon footprint, and annually offsets the remainder (100 tons of carbon).
