Lucas and Kye from Charfield Primary School in Gloucestershire have won a competition to decorate a Warburtons van.

Three schools and 60 pupils took part in the competition to redesign the Warburtons school visitor van. The van goes to schools across the south west to teach children about the importance of a healthy and balanced diet.

Warburtons’ school visitors Alice Weeks and Julie Welsh joined colleagues at Warburtons’ Bristol bakery to judge the competition, but were unable to pick between Lucas and Kye’s entries.

As a result they decided to combine Lucas’ smiling slice of bread and Kye’s grain of wheat and made them joint winners. To celebrate the new design, the school was treated to a visit from the new-look van, when Lucas and Kye were presented with goodie bags, book vouchers and certificates.

Charfield School’s year four teacher Hattie Lea said: “The children have really enjoyed the healthy eating workshops delivered by Warburtons and it was fantastic to see them engage with the van design competition.”
