Doncaster-based The Topping Pie Company is to launch a new range this month.
The Yorkshire family-run bakery will launch a deli to go range under its new Maggie’s sub-brand at this year’s Farm Shop & Deli Show (18-20 April) at the NEC, Birmingham.
The range is aimed at independent, speciality retailers, and is named after Maggie Topping whose family recipes and passion for home baking inspired the growth of the pie business. It features seven lines in new flow-wrapped packaging, with a product identification sleeve in pastel rainbow colours.
It includes 190g chilli pork pie, 190g traditional pork pie, 190g family pork pie, half huntsman pork pie (210g), half Yorkshire farmer’s pork pie (210g), and two varieties of quiche (cheese & onion, and quiche lorraine).
The whole range is handcrafted at the bakery using premium-quality British Red Tractor-approved pork meat and locally sourced ingredients.
Matthew Topping, sales director at The Topping Pie Company, said: “As farm shops, independent delis and speciality retailers become ever more competitive, they are looking for quality products that give food-to-go counters a real point of difference.
“We believe our new Maggie’s range will appeal to foodies looking for a wholesome, homemade snack or lunch on the go and, with our brightly coloured packaging, will catch the eye of customers.”
The Topping Pie Company will also unveil new colour-coded packaging for its speciality pork pie range, featuring the bakery’s contemporary new logo, and imagery on the box with a window, to showcase the product.
Last year, The Topping Pie Company was chosen by The Co-operative to supply its pies across Yorkshire.
