British Baker has learnt that Real Good Food (RGF) has launched a new 100% wholly owned subsidiary business, Renshaw US Inc. and opened a warehouse facility in Rockaway, New Jersey.

RGF also plans to take its other cake decoration business, Rainbow Dust Colours, stateside in the course of the next year.
Renshaw Americas has secured a five-year lease on the 18,750sq ft New Jersey warehousing facility. British Baker understands that it is already operational and stocked with Renshaw products, and will allow the company to respond to American customers’ needs significantly quicker – orders
will be able to be fulfilled across the country within a matter of days at most.
Renshaw Americas will initially employ a commercial team of four and will act as a sales and distribution hub to sell cake decorating products from the RGF stable initially across the USA
and Canada, and ultimately on a wider scale across the rest of
the Americas.
At its AGM this month, the company also announced that it has rebranded its Real Good Food Europe division as Renshaw Europe. Commenting on the rebranding, Pieter Totté, executive chairman of RGF, said: “A common theme across all the companies of the group is a transformation from being a manufacturing-led to a market-led businesses. Understanding the markets in which we operate and meeting customer requirements with quality products and excellent service is a key driver for our future development. The rebranding is a manifestation of our intention to grow the Renshaw brand internationally.”
He said the move was to reflect the business’ focus on cake decoration products. Renshaw Europe is based in Brussels and acts as a sales and marketing, distribution, and logistics centre for the company.
Real Good Food recently reported a statutory profit before tax of £12.9m for the year ending 31 March 2016, with £9.1m generated from the disposal of its sugar arm, Napier Brown.
