Bakery brands have been devilishly conjuring up new limited-edition sweet treats to spread cackles of joy (and boost sales) this Halloween.
The graveyard full of innovations range from dastardly doughnuts and cursed cupcakes to spooky cookies, monstrous macarons, and bone-chilling biscuits.
These showcase the usual rainbow of alarming hues – green, orange, black, red, purple, and white – while some seasonal flavours like pumpin spice, toffee apple, and butterscotch help tingle the taste buds.
Check out the line-up of Halloween-themed bakes below, if you dare:
Asda
The retailer’s Horror Emporium range rears its ghastly head once again this year, with a cauldron full of new bakery treats to devour.
Said to be first to market are the Monster Mallow Teacakes (rsp: £1.10, eight-pack) made with green caramelised apple flavoured mallows on a biscuit base, smothered in milk chocolate. There are also Haunted House Milk Chocolate Biscuits (£1.57) featuring crumbly shortcake topped with smooth milk chocolate, and Creepy Cake Slices (£2.45) for a twisted take on the popular chocolate school cake format.
The Horror Emporium range has also been extended into food to go, with a Trick or Treat BBQ Chicken Wrap (£3.50) delivering an unexpected kick – one side of the twin-pack contains sweet and smoky BBQ chicken, and the other a fiery habanero BBQ chicken filling.

London-based, hand-iced cookie specialist Baked by Steph has come to the rescue for anyone that likes their spooky season (relatively) cute.

These include the Frankenstein Halloween Cake in sizes from 6” to 12” (rsp: from £26.99, serves up to 18), available in either Victoria or chocolate sponge base, with a green cream skin, dripping chocolate fringe, and perplexed eyes and mouth decorations.
For an individual treat, Cake Box has the Haunted Graveyard Halloween Slice (£4.50) made with chocolate sponge layered with fresh cream, topped with biscuit gravestones and orange and chocolate curls. There’s also the Jack-o’-Lantern Cheesecake Sundae (£4), comprising a crunchy biscuit base, vanilla cheesecake filling, and layer of berry sauce, finished with orange cream, flake and face drawn in chocolate sauce.
Candy’s Cupcakes
A raft of Halloween themed cupcakes topped with swathes of vibrant coloured buttercream has been crafted by Ashton-under-Lyne business Candy’s Cupcakes.
Among the ghoulish confectionery providing finishing touches are pumpkins, ghosts, frogs, skulls, bones and eyeballs made from chocolate; worms, chicken feet, and brains made from gummies, and even sweet teeth and shards of mint glass.
Each box of six cupcakes costs £24, with collections including Trick or Treat, Bewitched, Ghoul Gang, Sweet Screams, and Poison Garden. Gluten-free ‘Friendly Bakes’ cupcakes are available too (£27, box of six), whilst personalised branding can be applied with an edible wafer card to half a box for £25, the other half topped with marshmallow pumpkins.
There’s also a Boo Box (rsp: £24) containing a cake-in-a-jar, a Hey Boo and a Friendly Ghost cupcake, a Cookie Crypt (cookie sandwich), and a swag bag for Trick or Treating. A shareable option is the Happy Halloween Cake (£48), which has a 12” by 10” sheet of sponge covered with orange buttercream, finished with green, purple and black buttercream swirls, chocolates, and sprinkles.

Silver Apples Bakery
To help foodservice operators strike fear on their bakery counters this month, Stockport-based sweet treat specialist Silver Apples Bakery has unveiled two special Halloween lines.
The Halloween Mummy Cronuts gives a monster makeover to its signature cronuts, finishing them with spooky but edible eyes and a trio of flavoured glazes including Biscoff, dark chocolate, and white chocolate.
It also has the eye-catching Death by Chocolate Stuffed Cookies, featuring chocolate cookies loaded with triple chocolate chunks and a gooey Nutella centre, finished with a chocolate drizzle and blood red sprinkles.

Tozi Counter
The Italian-inspired deli counter of Tozi Pizzeria & Cicchetti Bar, located next to Battersea Power Station in London, is offering up a Halloween Bombolone (rsp: £4) for fearsome festivities.
The seasonal spin on the classic Italian doughnut is filled with a rich caramel custard and finished with salted caramel glaze and cocoa crumble.
