Greggs, the bakery retail chain, has appointed two new non-executive directors.
Peter McPhillips joins with immediate effect and Sandra Turner joins following the AGM to be held on 1 May 2014. These appointments fill the vacancies to be created when Iain Ferguson and Julie Baddeley who will step down from the board at same AGM.

McPhillips has spent most of his career in food manufacturing having held a number of senior executive positions including Divisional Managing Director of Hillsdown Holdings, Director of Terranova, which was the chilled foods business demerged from Hillsdown Holdings, and ultimately as UK Managing Director of Uniq plc, running food production businesses across the UK. More recently, he was European Chairman of Hain Celestial Group.
Sandra Turner spent her executive career working in large, consumer-focused companies, most notably 21 years at Tesco, as a member of the senior management team holding several commercial roles, including that of Commercial Director in Ireland between 2003 and 2009. Since then Sandra has developed a portfolio of non-executive roles, and was a director of Northern Foods plc until early in 2011. She is currently a non-executive director of Carpetright plc, McBride plc, (where she also Chairs the Remuneration Committee), Countrywide plc, and is also a non-executive director of the Finnish-listed packaging company Huhtamäki Oyj.
