Global bakery business Aryzta Food Solutions has unveiled red and black coloured burger buns.
Supplied under the company’s Hiestand brand, the buns are coloured using natural vegetable charcoal in the case of the black bun, and beetroot powder for the red bun. Both are topped with sesame seeds.
Aryzta said the buns will help operators premiumise their burger offering and lend the all-important ‘Instagram factor’. The company added that social media made presentation and creating shareable, show-stopping dishes important.
Paul Whitely, brand & communications manager for Aryzta UK, said the burger buns would intrigue consumers.
“Our new buns are exactly what outlets need to add a little something extra to impress customers and ensure their menu stays ahead of the competition,” Whitely said. “They’re available frozen so chefs don’t have to worry about wastage and any potential profit losses.”
The two new burger buns will be supplied in cases of 30 and come pre-sliced in a thaw-and-serve format.
In February 2016, London-based bakery Beigel Shop introduced the Rainbow Bagel, which saw a surge of interest following its appearance on BBC One’s The Apprentice last year.
