Sixty-four cupcakes have now been shortlisted for the finals of the National Cupcake Championships, to take place on 2 July.
During the preliminary judging round last week, 204 entries - double the number of entries than in 2011 - were whittled down to 64, across the seven categories. See below for a full list of the shortlisted entries.
The shortlisted cupcakes will be judged on a number of criteria, specifically taste and appearance, at the finals next month.
Taking place at the Institute for Contemporary Art in London, the judging line-up for the finals includes: Royal Wedding cake-maker Fiona Cairns, award-winning patissier and chocolatier Will Torrent, Great British Bake Off winner Edd Kimber, experimental cake artist Lily Vanilli, and Konditor & Cook founder Gerhard Jenne.
