New York Bakery Co is set to launch a new bagel guide to tap increased demand for the baked product.
Rolling out on 9 February, as part of National Bagel Day, the guide will contain insights, tips and recipes to help caterers capitalise on the ‘bagel boom’. It flags up anticipated food trends for 2018 such as US dishes and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as vegetarian and vegan options.
“Each recipe in the bagel guide has been developed with the latest food trends in mind, to suit a range of eating occasions throughout the day – bagels aren’t just for breakfast,” said New York Bakery’s marketing manager Philippa Knight.
“While cream cheese is always going to be a popular topping, the guide helps operators to create a bagel offering that stands out from the competition.
“The Lebanese chicken bagel, for example, combines Middle Eastern ingredients a lot of consumers will be familiar with, like hummus, alongside more unusual, up-and-coming flavours such as zaatar and sumac.”
The guide will be available to download from the New York Bakery Co website from 9 February.
