The £18 cake, created by the former Yorkshire dinner lady, includes Brussels sprouts, parsnips, cranberries, chestnuts and carrots.
Whitmarsh said: “Seeing our Christmas Dinner Cake finally being sold nationwide is literally a dream come true. I baked my first cake for a customer in my home kitchen in 2008, and now we are seeing orders stacking up and winning awards too. It is going to be a very busy Christmas for us, we hope!”
The Huddersfield bakery is known for its unusual flavours, such as courgette and lime, beetroot and chocolate, as well as dandelion and burdock which one a Gold Star at the 2012 Great Taste Awards.
Next year, the business, already employing 25 local people, hopes to expand with several new launches.
Meaden added: “Allison is a tremendous example of how entrepreneurs with great ideas, excellent products, a sound business model and the passion and drive to succeed can quickly make a difference in business, as well as in their local communities.”
In February this year a range of Propermaid’s cakes were selected as one of the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes’ (NAAFI) Best of British foods to feed the forces.
