Wholesaler Thomas Ridley Foodservice has teamed up with Vanier Desserts to add six new cake and dessert variants to its range.

Available to order online, the frozen dessert range comprises four gluten-free options, including Chocolate Coronet Pavlova, Iced Lemon Meringue, Mango & Passionfruit Cheesecake and Raspberry Pavlova.

The range also includes Gooseberry Apple Treacle Crumble Tart and the Mango & Passionfruit Cheesecake.

The Vanier Dessert range is made from natural ingredients and has several benefits for operators, according to Thomas Ridley’s multi-channel marketing manager Darren Osborn:

  • Food waste – “When making desserts from scratch, key ingredients such as cream and fresh fruit with their short shelf life can quickly go out of date and, without careful stock control, this can result in a high amount of food waste. The desserts are stored frozen and simply defrosted before serving to a consumer. This will also help to reduce costs as fewer ingredients will be thrown away.”
  • Timesaving – “In terms of preparation, the desserts are simply defrosted and served, but also any member of the catering team, regardless of training, can prepare the dessert and serve to the consumer.”
