The British Society of Baking (BSB) is opening up its past papers to all as it launches a new website.

The move comes in a bid to encourage younger bakers to use the information and nurture upcoming talent.

The papers will be free for all to view, and were previously only accessible to members, who pay £60 a year.

Mike Bagshaw, BSB chairman, said: “It is effective almost as of now. It is open to anybody to come and look through the back catalogue and we want youngsters to use them.

“The internet is so good now – you can Google anything – so we said why not make it free?

“We are trying to work hard with other organisations like the Alliance for Bakery Students & Trainees and the Craft Bakers’ Association – we are trying to get more commercial to help youngsters.”
