Mayor of London Boris Johnson met staff at the Uxbridge branch of Subway to talk about key issues affecting the food industry.

These included Greg Madigan, Subway’s chief executive of UK and Ireland, Charles Stewart, director of operations for Greater London, and Rusty Warren, regional field manager for Greater London.

The visit to the high street sandwich retailer on 22 April provided an opportunity for discussions surrounding the key issues affecting the foodservice industry.

Subway also said in a statement that the agenda included: “Subway’s positive economic contribution to the UK and the government’s public health responsibility deal, and how the franchise is working with the local community to promote the business opportunities in Uxbridge.”

Last month, Subway opened its 5,000th European outlet with a new site in Livingston, Scotland.
