Hovis CEO Jon Jenkins is stepping down after three years of leading the bread brand.
The company confirmed Jenkins would be vacating his position from mid-September, without naming a successor.
According to a statement, the executive board at Hovis is to continue delivering strategic direction for the brand, “providing retailers and consumers with the great service and high-quality products they are used to.”
Non-executive director Di Walker, who was part of a raft of executive and board-level appointments in 2021, will assume chair of the Hovis board.
It comes at a time when Hovis – owned by private equity firm Endless LLP – is set to be acquired by Allied Bakeries owner Associated British Foods (ABF).
Prior to joining Hovis as chief executive in 2022, Jenkins was boss of Allied Bakeries from June 2015 to January 2020. He served at CEO at Müller UK & Ireland in between these roles, and previously spent just over 11 years in senior positions at Twinings whilst also being on the Gender Diversity Task Force at ABF.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Hovis and would like to thank all our incredible colleagues across our bakeries, milling operation and distribution centres for their commitment and support over the last three years,” commented Jenkins. “I am really proud of what we have achieved and I look forward to seeing the business continue to prosper in the future.”
Endless managing partner Aidan Robson thanked Jenkins for his support and leadership over the last three years. “Jon has helped navigate Hovis through an unprecedented period of raw material inflation and further developed the much-loved Hovis range of products and brand,” he said, adding “Jon leaves with our thanks and best wishes”.
