Bakery company Dawn Foods has appointed Carrie Jones-Barber as its new chief executive.

She is the third generation of the Jones family to head the company, following her father Ron Jones. He and Miles Jones will remain involved in the running of the organisation in new roles as chairman and co-chairman.

Ms Jones-Barber most recently served as president of Dawn Foods International and has held a number of senior positions at the company. She plans to further establish it as a world leader in sweet bakery production.
