North-west bakery chain Sayers the Bakers has bought a new bakery venture to the high street in the form of the Poundbakery.
Although this project has remained relatively under the radar, Poundbakery has ramped up a massive 27 outlets over the past few months according to the bakery’s website located across the north west, including Bolton, Liverpool, Preston and Manchester.
A spokesperson for the bakery said it was currently opening shops at the rate of a couple a week, and was due to open its 30th store, in Bolton, later this month.
As the name suggests, the outlets sell a range of products, including sausage rolls, bread and cakes for £1 or less, under its strapline, ’Tasty Baking at Tasty Prices’.
Consumers can purchase two meat and potato pies for £1, hot drinks for 50p, and fresh sandwiches and filled barms for £1 each, for example.
