- British Bakeries plans to create 200 jobs at the former Harvestime (2005) site in Leicester, which it bought out of administration last month. The site is operating at 25% capacity and one plant is fully operational, producing Hovis bread. The baker has already recruited 45 people and plans to gradually increase its capacity at the site.


- The Advertising Standards Authority is deciding whether to follow up five complaints about Walker's Crisps' latest broadcast adverts, where the salt content in crisps and bread in compared, Complaints received say it is misleading and confusing to imply crisps are healthy.
