Mike Moran Brook Food

Brook Food & Bakery Equipment has named Mike Moran as managing director, marking the next stage in the supplier’s long-term succession plan.

Moran joined Brook Food almost five years ago with the objective of helping build the organisational framework and leadership structure required for future growth.

He previously worked for three years as regional director - food & bakery ingredients at Kent Foods, following managerial roles at M&J Seafood and Bako South Eastern. ”My hands-on approach and commitment to process improvement empower teams to exceed targets and adapt to market challenges,” he wrote in his LinkedIn bio.

While the timeline has recently accelerated due to the sudden passing of Brook founder and MD Steve Wells, Moran’s appointment reflects a carefully structured strategy developed by shareholders of the Somerset-based business over several years.

“Mike has played a significant role in strengthening our business and preparing it for the future,” commented a spokesperson for Brook Food. “His transition to managing director is the culmination of a long-term succession plan and provides continuity for our customers, suppliers and colleagues.”

The business said it will continue to operate as a collaborative leadership team, maintaining its commitment to delivering innovative bakery solutions and industry-leading service across the sector. The company added that it would like to thank its customers and partners for their continued support and looks forward to building on its strong foundations under Moran’s leadership.

Operating from its main premises in Williton Industrial Estate, which houses over 3,000 pieces of machinery and includes a test bakery facility, Brook Food supplies new and second-hand equipment as well as turnkey solutions from consultation to installation and after sales. This site is supported by a depot in northern England as well as an office in Melbourne, Australia, and Washington in the US.
