The Co-operative has launched a new food-to-go range with over 30 lines, as part of an overhaul of its own-brand lines.
The range is the first to be launched under Co-op’s Loved by Us brand. Later in the month ready-meals and pies will be added, as well as pizzas in October.
Food to go will also include revamped favourites, with new recipes and ingredients.
The range sees the reinforcement of The Co-operative’s commitment to British farmers, as all own-brand food-to-go products will contain 100% British meat, poultry and fish, wherever possible, andBritish free-range egg.
For breakfast, consumers can chose from an eat-hot-or-cold roll, containing free-range egg and bacon, or egg and slow-roasted tomato.
Lunch options include The Co-operative’s own-brand standard-range sandwiches, flatbreads and wraps such as harissa salmon flatbread.
New Middle Eastern and Indian-style flatbreads and wraps have also been added to the line, including falafel and tzatziki flatbread, and tandoori chicken flatbread. According to the retailer, classic sandwiches have been improved, with softer breads and extra fillings. The prawn sandwich has 50% more prawns than previously.
Food-to-go desserts include new lemon curd surprise, mini muffins, fruity coconut macaroons and millionaire’s flapjack.
