Australia’s Doughnut Time has partnered with Great British Bake Off finalist Steven Carter-Bailey ahead of the opening of its third store in Notting Hill this Saturday (27January).
The new store is located next to a bookshop that appeared in romantic comedy Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.
To celebrate the street’s heritage, the 2017 Great British Bake Off contestant has created a limited-edition doughnut named after Roberts’ character – Anna Scott. The doughnut is covered in a dark chocolate glaze with chocolate drizzle and curls, topped with Carter-Bailey’s take on ‘the last brownie’.
“Following our successful openings in Central and East London, we can’t believe it’s already time to hit West London. So far our doughnuts have conquered Londoners’ hearts, and we’re looking forward to sprinkling a bit of fun on this iconic area,” says Doughnut Time founder Damian Griffiths.
Londoners will be treated to two hours of free doughnuts between 12pm and 2pm on Saturday.
Doughnut Time first came to London in October, and has since opened another store in Shoreditch with more planned for London City Airport later this year. It is renowned for its over-the-top doughnuts, with names such as Hans Rolo (chocolate and caramel topped with Rolos), Slim Shady (featuring M&Ms) and Notorious P.I.G (topped with Percy Pigs).
