Flour specialist Doves Farm has launched an organic coconut flour alongside a brand refresh.
Its Organic Coconut Flour (£3.75/500g) is made using sustainably grown Sri Lankan coconuts and is high in fibre and protein, as well as gluten-free, the company said.
Part of Doves’ organic flour range, it can be used to create cakes, cookies, pancakes, waffles and pastry. The flour is Soil Association organic-certified, Vegan Society- and Coeliac UK-certified.
“Our new Organic Coconut Flour allows consumers to take their baking to the next level.
In addition to adding new tastes and textures to bakes, the flour also provides a number of nutrition benefits, which will appeal to health-conscious consumers,” said Claire Marriage, founder of Doves Farm.
The flavourful and versatile flour would appeal to those looking for alternative flours that had multiple nutritional credentials or those following low-carbohydrate diets such as the Keto diet, said the company.
Doves Farm is also unveiling a brand refresh across its organic flours, biscuits and baking essentials with a “clear and contemporary logo”.
The Everyday Flour range now features a bright colour palette with modern illustrations of bakes.
Its Ancient Grains flour packs include on-pack illustrations from the natural world, such as bees, butterflies and ancient grain varieties.
“As pioneers of organic and the first brand to re-introduce ancient grains such as spelt to the UK, we are really excited to reveal this bold new design direction. We know the primary
reason people up and down the country bake is for enjoyment, but the home baking category can seem quite traditional to those browsing the flour aisle,” added Marriage.
The design is intended to communicate its organic heritage, boost brand and product stand-out on-shelf and online and help make the organic flour category more accessible.
It is also expected to appeal to those looking for high-quality, eco-conscious baking ingredients and the new generation of bakers, who love to share baking creations online, it added.
“It’s also clear people are increasingly looking for foods that have been sustainably produced, such as those with an organic certification. Our new look is a vibrant, modern celebration of home baking and organic, and the joy that is associated with both – we are thoroughly excited to add a little bit of colour to the baking category.”
