That most wonderful time of the year is almost upon us – and once again Britain’s bakers are pulling out all the stops.
Bakery comes into its own at Christmas, and suppliers have given a festive twist to treats including doughnuts, pies, brownies, cookies and much, much more.
Here we take a look at what 10 bakery businesses will be tempting consumers with this Christmas:

Christmas doughnut, Baker & Baker
European bakery giant Baker & Baker has given the doughnut a festive makeover.
The thaw-and-serve treat has a cocoa crème filling, cocoa icing and multi-coloured themed sugar decoration. It is egg free, contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and is suitable for vegetarians.
“The festive doughnut, with its eye-catching toppings, taps into the consumer trend for products that visually correspond with a season, and will support our customers in driving sales during this crucial period,” says Baker & Baker UK marketing manager Helen Sinclair.

Florentine Mixed Assortment box, Thomas Fudge’s
Fox’s Burton’s Companies brand Thomas Fudge’s has rolled out a Florentine Mixed Assortment box (rsp £6/228g) to Sainsbury’s and Morrisons stores.
Designed to meet demand for festive gifts, the box features the brand’s ornate wallpaper design and contains Belgian Milk and Dark Chocolate Florentines alongside new flavour Blonde Salted Caramel.
“Year after year, shoppers turn to Thomas Fudge’s for beautifully crafted treats that help celebrate remarkable moments, so we’re incredibly excited to be bringing a product developed specifically for gifting this festive season,” says Fox’s Burton’s Companies trade marketing director David Hebson.

Festive range, The Original Baker
The Original Baker has unveiled a festive line-up comprising three products:
- Chicken, Turkey, Cranberry & Stuffing Roll: layers of golden, all-butter puff pastry enclose chicken and turkey thigh, sage & onion stuffing and sweet cranberry. Each roll is hand-glazed with an egg wash, and finished with rubbed sage, black onion seeds and a breadcrumb topping
- Pork, Stuffing & Cranberry Pie (pictured above): British pork blended with sage & onion stuffing and smoky bacon, complemented by cranberry sauce and a rich gravy. Encased in a buttery shortcrust pastry base with a golden puff pastry lid, each pie is hand-glazed and finished with a sprinkle of thyme
- Roasted Veg, Cheese & Cranberry Crumble Pie: inside an all-butter shortcrust pastry case is a blend of oven-roasted root vegetables in a creamy cheese sauce, balanced with a hint of cranberry chutney. The pie is finished with a crumble topping.

Festive Turkey Pie,
Fray Bentos
Fray Bentos has launched a festive pie containing turkey and Cumberland sausage with a sage & thyme gravy in the brand’s 64-layer golden puff pastry. The new pie (rsp £2.99) is now available in B&M stores, Nisa and Home Bargains, and rolls out to Asda and Morrisons in November.
“Fray Bentos pies have stood the test of time, and have been part of British mealtimes for generations. We’re proud of this heritage, but we’re not stuck in the past,” says Fray Bentos brand manager Jude Smart. “We’re evolving the range to appeal to a new generation of consumers who want proper food that’s quick, tasty and great value.”

The Nutcracker collection, Donutelier

Mince Pie Crumpet, Crumpetorium
Norfolk-based crumpet experts Crumpetorium have brought back their limited-edition mince pie crumpet for 2025 (£7/six-pack). Laced with mincemeat and cinnamon, the crumpets are described as the perfect festive breakfast. “Toast or grill as desired and serve hot with butter, brandy butter, whipped cream, cinnamon and ginger flavours, or whatever topping your heart desires,” suggests the supplier.

Christmas range, Cake or Death
Cake or Death is catering to a range of budgets with its selection of five festive products:
