Henllan Bakery is to open a second production site in Denbigh this month.
The new cake and biscuit making facility on Colomendy Industrial Estate has already created 20 jobs, with staff trained and ready for the opening.
The family-run business, which produces bread, pastries, morning goods and cakes, now employs a 94 people. Its customers include Tesco, Asda and Morrisons, as well as corner shops and holiday parks in North Wales.
Henllan said the second site would allow the business to continue to grow, and cater for consumer trends.
“We have grown massively and we had to make the decision to move and get bigger premises,” said Tom Moore, production director at Henllan Bakery.
“The opening of the new bakery has meant lots of planning and the creation of new jobs and lots of apprenticeships aimed at bringing the next generation of bakers through.”
The business has also worked with local self-storage provider Lock Stock, which supplied four storage containers to create extra space for Henllan’s packaging and equipment.
