Maître Choux has launched a selection of savoury eclairs for the first time.
The French patisserie has created four summer-inspired toppings for its crispy choux pastry base. Double Tomato & Feta, Crunchy Spring Vegetable, Smoked Salmon, Yuzu Cream Cheese & Avocado, and Chicken Mayo & Avocado went on sale for £5 (takeaway) or £6 (eat in) last week.
The business, which was established by Michelin-star chef Joakim Prat and business partner Jeremie Vaislic in 2015, has traditionally produced sweet products including éclairs, choux and chouquettes.
The latest offer will be available across the company’s sites in London’s Soho, King’s Road and South Kensington, as well as Bicester Village in Oxfordshire.
“In order to offer an alternative to those who are looking for something savoury, we decided to apply the same creativity, and skills to creating fine jewellery-like savoury items,” said Vaislic, Maître Choux co-founder and CEO.
He added the range had been “been flying off the shelf”, especially the smoked salmon version.
