Pidy has expanded its Technipat frozen sponge sheet range with a raspberry joconde variant.
The sponge sheets are suitable for a variety of sweet bakery applications, including layered cakes, decorative strips and individual desserts.
Pidy said the extension of the range gave foodservice professionals even greater flexibility and choice for patisserie and desserts.
“We are thrilled to be introducing yet another flavour to our selection of frozen sponge sheets. The Technipat sheets are such a versatile ingredient to have readily available in the kitchen all year round, but as we turn our attention to spring menus and the vibrant fruity flavours associated with this new season, there is a significant demand for decadent desserts,” said Fabien Levet, national account manager at Pidy UK.
“The addition of the raspberry flavour is guaranteed to not only please the palate, but is also sure to create striking desserts due to the naturally vivid colour of the raspberry sponge.”
The new flavour joins Pidy’s chocolate sponge sheet with almond, pistachio and coconut inclusions which launched in August.
The business has focussed heavily on NPD this year with launches to expand both its ‘Trendy’ pastry case and ‘Veggie Cup’ ranges, as well as a new organic shortcrust pastry case. It recently announced plans to grow its presence in the UK.
