The Real Good Food Co’s subsidiary Napier Brown has signed supply agreements with Asda and Booker.
The subsidiary will be taking on the extra staff at its headquarters in Normanton, West Yorkshire.
The contracts, due to start later this month, will, according to the business, see an increase in Whitworths Sugar’s value to around £100m, with Asda and Booker featuring the entire Whitworths sugar range in store.
This will amount to over 60 products, including the Whitworths everyday and specialist ranges.
The contracts will also create around 80 new jobs across all functions of the business.
Jon Tanner, managing director at Napier Brown, said: “Launching the Whitworths Sugar range is the result of 18 months hard work and we are all extremely excited to be working with all our customers in bringing our vibrant and innovative brand to the market. The positive effect on the local community here in Normanton by the creation of 80 new jobs is an added sign of success for us.
"We have seen Whitworths Sugar grow from strength to strength and this latest announcement is part of the Napier Brown’s ambitious growth plan to double the size of its business over the next three years.”
