Soreen is marking the 80th anniversary of its malt loaves with the launch of a new flavour.
The strawberry loaf, available exclusively at Asda, is the fourth addition to the Lunchbox Loaves range, which includes apple, banana and traditional malt.
Strawberry Lunchbox Loaves have less than half the sugar and 84% less fat than the average cake bar, as well as less than half the sugar of compressed fruit-based snacks, said the company.
“We know how hard it can be for parents to provide healthy nutritious options for their kids, especially on-the-go. That’s why we’re excited to launch this brand new flavour, adding to the range,” said Soreen managing director Mark Simester, who was previously marketing director at Warburtons.
“Malt loaf is a complex carbohydrate with two-thirds of its energy released slowly and a third fast release, plus it’s low in fat and a source of fibre, all vital parts of a healthy and nutritious diet.”
