Chocolate giant Barry Callebaut has launched a range of chocolate and fruit fillings designed to tap consumer demand for premium products.
Launched at the ISM trade fair in Cologne, Germany this week, both fillings are made without added vegetable fats and preservatives and will be available for confectionery and bakery applications.
The chocolate filling contains 40% fewer calories than fat-based fillings, said the supplier, while the fruit fillings are described as offering a sweet taste and smooth texture.
Bas Smit, global and EMEA marketing director at Barry Callebaut, said the new fillings added an unexpected taste and texture to any chocolate experience.
“At Barry Callebaut we are constantly re-imagining the world of chocolate. Every day we want to create new products that trigger the imagination of consumers worldwide,” he said.
“With awesome fillings, we have crafted an exciting new range that continues to do just that.”
The confectionery range comes in chocolate, raspberry, apple and apricot versions, while the bakery range comes in raspberry, apple and apricot.
