A raspberry, white chocolate and marshmallow scone recipe by schoolgirl Grace Wakeford is now on the shelves at Ashers bakery in Moray.
Wakeford’s competition-winning scone recipe is now being used at Ashers bakery in Lossiemouth, Moray – staff had to increase their orders for the weekend when the scones proved a surprise hit and stocks ran low.
The recipe beat off competition from 120 home economics students, who were each given £2.50 to spend on ingredients to add to scones.
Thirteen year-old Wakeford said: “I was only going to make raspberry and white chocolate scones, but I had enough money to buy marshmallows too, so I thought, ‘why not?’”
Margaret Davidson, area manager for Ashers, said: “I think they’re fantastic. We’ve only got three left, so they are going down really well. I might have to up my order.”
