Former Young Apprentice 2013 contestant Lucy Beauvallet has just launched an online cake company called ‘Beauvallet’s Cakes’.
Twenty-year-old Beauvallet, who narrowly missing out on first place in the third series of the programme, is running the company alongside her university studies.
She delivered a cake to her mentor Baroness Brady and the board of West Ham United at their stadium on Monday, where she discussed the business with Brady.
Brady took to twitter to say, “Congratulations Lucy on opening your own business, the cake was amazing.”
At the moment all business is conducted online, but Beauvallet hopes to open up a full-scale bakery in the future.
Beauvallet’s Cakes’ bespoke cakes range from fresh flower cakes to chocolate mad hatter cakes. The website, www.beauvalletscakes.com, which Beauvallet has designed herself, shows off her latest designs.
Beauvallet’s passion for baking was demonstrated in the Afternoon Tea party task in the Apprentice series, where her toadstool meringues helped lead the team to victory. Since, she has interned at Jamie Oliver’s Food Foundation, presented at various Young Enterprise events as well as worked at one of the country’s leading accounting firm, Deloitte.
She is currently studying accounting and finance at the London School of Economics.
