Perth-based Tower Bakery has agreed a deal to supply 90 Lidl stores across Scotland with a range of six products.
The traditional Scottish items are now being distributed to 90 Lidl stores across the country, following an operational expansion at Tower Bakery.
The new distribution deal and expansion, which has seen the bakery double its production capacity, comes after the bakery received funding from Clydesdale Bank. The investment also enabled the company to “invest a six-figure sum in new equipment”.
Tower Bakery, run by husband and wife Angela and Sandy McKinnon and their three children, already supplies Aldi, The Co-operative and Spar, and last month it also won listings in Asda and Tesco.
Co-founder and director of Tower Bakery, Angela McKinnon, said: “Our recent spate of contract wins has been great news for the development of the business. We have created 20 new jobs across the firm, including bakers and drivers.
“The increasing demands on capacity have been hard work for us all, but it’s a very exciting time for the business.”
