Adams Food Ingredients, the functional ingredients division of The Irish Dairy Board, has launched a line of additives to help bakers enhance the health and nutritional values of products.
The range has been designed to fortify foods, reduce fat content, increase fibre content and lower levels of cholesterol and sugar in foods.
The range includes products such as B-CAN Oat Beta Glucan, Züeit Brand Sucralose, COWCIUM Natural Milk Calcium, Proti-GERM Defatted Wheat Germ and FOAMEX Quillaja Extract Powder.
Proti-GERM Defatted Wheat Germ, widely used in bakery and cereal products, offers flavour enhancement in grain-based goods. It can also help improve the nutritional value of low-fat snacks, bakery mixes and cereals.
B-CAN Oat Beta Glucan is a concentrated naturally derived soluble oat fibre. Health benefits may include lowering cholesterol and helping the immune system.
