Gradz Bakery secures first supply deal with Ocado

Gradz Bakery has gained its first listing at online retailer Ocado.

Available from this week on a promotion, the six breads listed by the retailer are: Spirulina & Pumpkin Seed, Handcrafted Amaranth, Oats and Flax Sourdough, Rye 100% with Honey, Gluten Free Dark with Seeds, and Gluten Free Dark with Sunflower Seeds.

Gradz Bakery, which specialises in healthy breads, was set up in 2015 by Agnes Gabriel-Damaz after she discovered a range of family recipes from her great-grandfather. These have been developed to appeal to the modern consumer.

“We know people love our bread for its wonderful texture and taste and now we can take it across the UK for the very first time – it is very exciting,” said Gabriel-Damaz.

“We hope this is simply the start, so more people can experience our whole range of natural continental-style bread. We are extremely proud of our products and so pleased our hard work has been recognised.”    

The breads will also be stocked in independent delis, health food stores and health-conscious cafés and restaurants.

Gradz Bakery won the Speciality Savoury category for its Spirulina & Pumpkin Seed bread and became the overall winner of the 2016 Tiptree World Bread Awards.
