MadeGood rolls out free-from granola bars at Asda

Canadian snack brand MadeGood has launched a range of granola bars at Asda.

The bars are suitable for vegans and are free from “most” common allergens, including gluten, nuts, egg, dairy and soy.

MadeGood claimed these were the first allergen-free granola snack bars safe for consumption in schools and recommended them for an on-the-go snack, as well as in kids’ lunchboxes.

“The number of children in the UK with a food allergy or sensitivity is significant and is on the rise. Despite best efforts by schools, there is always an underlying concern from parents that their kids may eat something that could cause them harm, either in their own lunchbox or when sharing food with friends,” said Andy Van Ham, managing director at Riverside International, which owns the MadeGood brand.

“MadeGood offers a great solution – not just to those who suffer from an allergy or sensitivity, but to all schoolchildren whose parents are looking for a healthy, tasty and nutritious snack bar for their lunch boxes.”

The bars have been rolled out in three flavours: chocolate chip; chocolate & banana; and mixed berry. They include organic natural ingredients, dried fruits and wholegrains, as well as vitamins from six vegetables.

The bars are available at Asda now, with an rsp of £2.79 for a six-pack.
