Day two of the Alliance for Bakery Students and Trainees (ABST) conference and judging took place for a variety of prestigious competitions, testing bakery students on their skills.

British Baker managed to talk to a selection of the judges who gave an insight as to what entrants could improve on next year. Winners received trophies and prizes, including financial investment, resources and work experience.

David Goddard was officially installed as the new president of the ABST during a formal evening meal at the Alton Towers Hotel in Staffordshire on 16 June, taking over from David Powell. Final award winners were announced, including California Raisins’ Future Baker competition.
