Sister-owned bakery Cutter & Squidge is to open a second site in London next month.
Located at 23 The Royal Exchange, near Bank tube station, the bakery will open on 11 February.
The menu will feature a selection of freshly-baked cakes, brownies, macarons, cookies and the company’s signature Biskies (see right) – a sandwiched dessert described as a cross between a cake and a cookie filled with cream and jam or salted caramel. All items are made from natural ingredients with a ‘less is best’ approach to fat and sugar.
Cutter & Squidge described the boutique as having a clean, bright and welcoming aesthetic that is designed to put cakes front and centre, with a window-facing display counter.
The new location will also allow the bakery to extend its click & collect service to customers within the local area.
“I started my career working in the City, but always dreamt of following my true childhood passion of owning a bakery with my sister, Emily,” said Annabel Lui, Cutter & Squidge co-owner.
“And now, on the fifth-year anniversary of our very first market stall, to be making a return to the City as a baker not a banker feels like a huge milestone for us. We can’t wait to welcome customers to our beautiful boutique inside The Royal Exchange.”
