Lanarkshire-based R&W Scott has appointed Mark Corless as its business development controller.
The former head of B2B at Renshaw Baking will help deliver the ingredients supplier’s ambitious growth plans over the next three years.
Corless has more than 30 years’ experience in foodservice, manufacturing and bakery wholesale, with five years at Renshaw.
“I am really looking forward to this new challenge and am genuinely excited to be joining what is now a sustainable business which has delivered a remarkable turnaround since their management buyout 12 months ago,” said Corless.
Corless collaborated regularly with the commercial team at R&W Scott when both businesses were part of Real Good Food.
After buying the historically loss-making business unit from Real Good Food in December 2019, the new owners have focused on developing more added-value and bespoke products, such as no-added-sugar ruby chocolate-flavoured coating, a matcha tea-flavoured coating and Scotts Luxury Soft Filling.
“Mark brings a wealth of experience at a crucial stage in our development as an independent business,” said John Easton, R&W Scott managing director.
“We have achieved our year one post-MBO objectives and are looking to build on this solid platform by continuing to meet and exceed the demands of our varied customer base.”
