Grahams Bakery in Northern Ireland has expanded its reach in the UK, scoring two deals with major retailers.

The business will now supply products to Budgens’ stores, and has also won a deal with online retailer Ocado.

Britain has been pinned as a ‘key market’ target for the brand, which currently supplies SuperValu and Centra stores in Ireland, as well as Londis stores in the UK.

Tim Graham, sales and marketing director, said: “Winning business from Budgens for our range is another important development for the company and will help as we seek to explore and exploit other opportunities we’ve identified, especially in Britain, which is a key market for us.”

“The market for the type of cakes and biscuits that we’ve developed using traditional bakery techniques is growing strongly because of dietary changes towards mini-bite goods.”

A family-owned bakery, Grahams was established in 1955, and now supplies customers in Northern Ireland, Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland and the United Arab Emirates.

It also supplies products to Lidl locally, and Aldi in Scotland.
